MAG Interdiction Pack Arrives on June 22
June 22 is the day for MAG players! The 256-player PS3 online FPS developer by Zipper Interactive will have its first Dlc. The official Playstation blog precises that MAG has reached 930,000 battles, 1.7 million players, and 1.1 billion kills.
The Dlc is entitled the Interdiction Pack and will cost $9.99. It features a new game type, 3 new maps and other fun goodies. It will also provide new armour packs, new medals, ribbons and trophies.
The new game type consists in 128 simultaneous gamers to “challenge two rival factions to be attackers and seize control of three command posts with the aid of several heavily-armed convoys on three brand new maps (Lake Bayano Spur, Sovot Motorway, and Iron Cree Quarry)”.
“To make it even more interesting, we’ve made all three maps completely faction neutral – allowing all sides to play any map whenever they want – in addition to supplying every squad with their own APC vehicle (that’s 16 APCs on the map at once!). To win, players must capture and hold as many objectives as possible to increase their score while concurrently depleting their enemy’s.”
Modern Warfare 2 Stimulus Package DLC Seduced a Million of Gamers on PSN
If you didn’t hear any complaints about Modern Warfare 2 Stimulus Package Dlc price you may live in a crave! On Twitter, on Facebook or on webzines we can read that $15 is a too high price. Well figures are here now and it seems that it wasn’t such a high price for one million gamers.
Not only the Dlc has been sold 1 million times on the XBLA but Activision confirmed that over one million gamers downloaded the map pack on the PSN. It has broken PSN records according to Infinity Ward’s Robert Bowling (yep it is still possible to work at Infinity Ward): “Thanks to the 1 Million+ playstation users who helped the Modern Warfare 2 Stimulus Package break day 1 & week 1 download records on PSN!”
Microsoft said about the Xbox 360: “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Stimulus Package shattered Xbox LIVE records as more than one million gamers worldwide downloaded the new map pack from Activision and Infinity Ward in the first 24 hours alone, surpassing the 2.5 million mark within the first week.”
The Resurgence Pack, the next Modern Warfare 2 Dlc will also be sold for $15 or 1200 Microsoft Points and will also propose 5 maps among which 2 from CoD 4: we don’t change a winning team! More information and screenshots of the Resurgence Pack here.

BioShock 2 DLC Crisis – Act 2
Bioshock 2 gamers are angry after 2k Games. Many of them could not play the new multiplayer maps they purchased last Week. The Metro Pack, 2nd Dlc for Bioshock 2, arrived last week with 2 other small Dlc after the disaster of the 1st Dlc. Elizabeth Tobey, the senior manager of interactive marketing for 2k Games reported the problem on 2K forums: it is not a glitch but a design choice: 2K has not created a Dlc-only online multiplayer playlist yet.
Here is her message:
“Apologies that I’m a bit later in the day than usual getting back to you guys on this – but here’s the deal.
We couldn’t assume all players would purchase the new maps, so we made a design decision to unify the player base and make sure no one got split up (because as we’ve already talked about a couple weeks back, no one likes that.) The Dlc maps cycle into the rotation during public matches if everyone in the room owns them, otherwise, base maps are used – that way you can still play with your friends even if they don’t own the new content.
If you want direct control over your maps, creating a private match is definitely the way to go.”
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 – The 2nd DLC Confirmed
Activision confirmed that a 2nd Modern Warfare 2 Dlc will be available in late 2010.
Thomas Tippl from Activision said that Call of Duty: Black Ops, developed by Treyarch, will be joined by another Dlc for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. However, we have no clue about what the Dlc will contain: new maps? new modes? new co-op missions?
The $15 for the first Stimulus Package wasn’t a problem for gamers: this first Dlc is a success for Activision. It would be hard to propose a higher price for a game released 8 or 10 months ago, even for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.
BioShock 2 – The Rapture Metro Pack DLC Trailer
This trailer for Rapture Metro Pack, the upcoming but undated Bioshock 2 Dlc presents the different new features.
You can have a look at the 6 new multiplayer maps through gameplay footage.
aboutBioShock 2 DLC Delayed
Bioshock 2 was supposed to have a new Dlc this week: the Rapture Metro Pack. 2K Games announced today that the Dlc won’t be out this week.
MS’ Major Nelson blog confirmed:
“The content will not be available this week as previously reported. I’ll have more details on timing in the very near future,” adds the Major.
A new game mode: Kill ‘Em Kindly, on which only melee weapons are authorized, will be available for those who puchase the Dlc and those who won’t.
The 6 new maps will invite you to fight in Bioshock 2 levels of the single player mode such as Dionysus Park, Siren Alley and Pauper’s Drop.
Well no release date was confirmed for the moment but the price should not change: 800 Microsoft Points.
Bioshock 2 is a kind of cursed game! After the scandal provoked by the 1st Dlc, which was already on the disk ,and now with a never coming Dlc we can’t say they are on a lucky trend!
aboutThe Rapture Metro Pack includes six new multiplayer maps, two masks, three Achievements and a new game mode, Kill ‘Em Kindly, which will also be available to non-Dlc purchasers and has you fighting purely with melee weapons.
The six new maps are all based on Bioshock 2 levels including Dionysus Park, Siren Alley and Pauper’s Drop.
When it does eventually hit, it will cost 800 Microsoft points (roughly £6.50).
MAG Gamers Must Mark the 29th of April
MAG Official blog reminds us that the 29th of April will be a big big day: the free Fast Attack gear pack Dlc and a double XP weekend.
The free Fast Attack Gear Pack:
The upcoming Dlc will be free. This is a first and important information. It will add 3 new Special Edition Sniper Rifles: Raven’s HM 90 SE, SVER’s SASR M, and Valor’s MK 14 Mod 1 EBR. These new weapons are occasions to have new performance adjustments and visual variations to your sniper rifle. More, there will be new armor types: the 3 factions can now choose to equip an improved light armor in their loadouts for the price of 400 in-game credits.
A Double XP weekend:
Starting at 12am Pacific/3am Eastern/ 8am GMT on April 29th, any player who logs onto MAG and plays as they normally do will receive Double XP. The bonus is available for Veterans who already have an XP bonus on their own (which is nice for those who play the game from its releases).
You must complete every game you play folks, otherwise, the bonus won’t apply.
about MAGBioShock 2 New DLC on April 29th
A new Bioshock 2 Dlc will be released next week: April 29th and will cost 800 points on the XBL which should be around $10.
The Dlc is discrete but is expected to boost the game. It is a generous pack: it features 6 new multiplayer maps, 3 character masks, 3 new Achievements and a melee deathmatch mode. Rapture has never been so generous!
The first Dlc created a crisis because the players paid for a content which was already on the disk. This time, 2K Games has decided to do things differently and tries to make us forget this misunderstanding.
6 new maps for $10, sounds fair isn’t it?
Battlefield: Bad Company 2 – 4 New Kits to Change Soldier’s Look

The kits will be available soon on PS3 and PC but we don’t have the exact date yet.
Well, there are 4 kits, for each class, with new weapons, uniforms, camouflaged and other items. You will also get 12 new awards and 4 new Achievements.

Here is the official Battlefield: Bad Company blog post:
There are 4 kits, one for each class, specific unique uniforms and camouflaged weapons gives you a visual edge. I mean what good is a camouflaged soldier if the gun sticks out like a sore thumb?
Recruited strictly from other high-level Special Operations units such as Delta Force and Spetsnaz, the Special Activities groups – SPECACT – are the elite of the elite, used mainly for covert operations and other high-risk missions in areas where conventional troops cannot be used.
With the 4 kit specific unique uniforms and the camouflaged SPECACT personal M16A2, UMP-45, MG3 and M95 SNIPER you have a visual edge on the Battlefield, showing that you’re a force to be reckoned with. The pack also includes 12 new awards and 4 Achievements.

The Stimulus Package’s Price Was Too Low Says an Analyst
According to an analyst, the Stimulus Package’s price was too low.
IGN reported an analysis which is in contradiction with the storm created by the Stimulus Package Dlc because of its price: 1200 Microsoft Points on Xbox 360, which is $15. This price will be the same for PC and PS3. According to Jess Divnich, analyst for EEDAR, the Dlc should have cost even MORE.
“The accepted commercial success benchmark for Dlc for a console game is 20% of the install base,” said Divnich. “The Stimulus map pack was able to reach that benchmark in just a week, and should reach 30 – 35% (of Modern Warfare 2 owners purchasing the add-on) through its lifetime,”
“It is evident that 2.5 million Xbox Live players felt that $15 was either just right or a good bargain and given the enormous quantity sold (2.5 million), I’d argue that Activision could have charged more and still obtain the same results.”
We are pretty sure that it will be hard to accept for most of the gamers.
“Of course the rate hike from $10 to $15 was met with many complaints from consumers, but the commercial success makes it evident that gamers felt the price tag was a good deal,” he explains.
As a result: this price is only your damn fault if you bought the game. If you want low priced Dlc: don’t buy games! Makes sense right?
