BRINK – Let the Dance Begin!
As a first step of Brink’s promotion campagin, the pre-order pack has been detailed. As you probably know, an important part of the commercial war starts here: what kind of bonuses we’ll have with the pre-order and dematerialized version?
Brink’s answer is: more customization options with the DOOM, Fallout, Psycho and Spec Ops packs. Each pack proposes unique tools, tattoos, weapons… These bonuses will be available in North America and then in Europe, Australia and New Zealand.
Here the different packs detailed:
Brink will be the Same on Each Platform
At QuakeCon, Splash Damage presented the upcoming Brink on Xbox 360, for the very first time on this console. The studio decided to present the game to the press and the communicaty at the same time, which is rather unusual. The purpose of the public / press conference was to confirm that there won’t be any differences between the platforms and that the controls will be absolutely the same.
Paul Wedgwood, CEO, commented Brink’s control scheme:
“So, we wanted to make a shooter to where whether you’re using a 360 controller, a PS3 controller, or a mouse and keyboard, you have the same great experience. That means you need to be able to lean, duck behind things, and shoot over the top of stuff and control your profile, using the Smart System so you can vault and slide, jump between gaps, do little wall jumps and that kind of thing.
Brink – A New in-Game Footage
Brink won’t appear on our PC, PS3 or Xbox 360 before 2011. It should be released Q1 2011 said the publisher Betheseda Softworks. It appears that the reasons of this delay isn’t from the developer team but from the publisher’s decision.
Brink will certainly be a brillant FPS according to what we know by now. The gameplay will be dynamic and is based on an advanced jump ability, the graphics seem cool and the storyline is classical but: why not! We will visit the paradise city of Ark. The story centers around two factions known as “Resistance†and “Securityâ€. They occupy Ark while explosions and rising tensions appear.
Before an in-game demonstration of Brink, the video focuses on the character’s’ customization system which sounds cool. Here it is:

Ghost Recon: Future Solider Delayed until Q1 2011
Ubisoft confirmed that Ghost Recon: Future Solider release will be delayed until Q1 2011. They had been a bit optimistic in talking about 2010.
Yves Guillemot, the Ubisoft CEO said: “Due to a very competitive environment we’ve decided to move the game out of the Christmas quarter into the march quarter.”
“It will also provide more time to our development teams to realise their ambition. We will be pleased to showcase the game for the first time at E3.”
In other words: they avoid September and October which are times for Call of Duty: Black Ops (Sept 9), Brink (Sept 7) and Medal of Honor (Oct. 12). Wise decision.
BRINK AI Equals Human Intelligence
Splash Damage communicated today on the AI developed for their upcoming FPS: Brink. They said that it can’t be differentiated from human intelligence.
Creative Director Richard Ham said to Skewed & Reviewd:
“Our AI is capable of doing literally every action that you can”
“Brink’s AI has to be great because of the way we blend single player and multiplayer gaming seamlessly. At any time, you could be playing against AI or against other human players, and our goal is that you can’t tell the difference.”
“Not only are the enemies more ruthless and surprising, but your teammates are more self reliant and useful,” he explained. “In Brink, you won’t have to babysit your AI squad mates and make sure they do their jobs. Actually, if you’re not doing well, they’ll babysit you!”
In few years, playing multiplayers with other dudes will be obsolete! Naw I’m joking! We are stronger than computers right??

Brink new videos
Brink is back in the news with a new impressive video of its gameplay. It can only be seen on them website so click here to watch the video. We can see wonderful graphics and great features of the gameplay.
“Brink introduces a revolutionary interpretive movement system we call SMART (Smooth Movement Across Random Terrain). SMART dynamically evaluates where you’re trying to get to or what you’re trying to do, and makes it happen: vaulting, mantling, climbing, sliding, and even seeking cover. This means you make the tactical decisions of where to move and the route to take, the system helps you do it in the coolest way possible.

BRINK: Customization And In-Game Features “To The Next Level”
Richard Ham, Splash Damages‘ creative director, said that the very anticipated Brink (the rasta FPS) will take customization and in-game features “to the next level”.
Richard Ham said to NowGamer:
“Definitely!” he said. “In fact, back in 2003, our title Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory introduced earning XP (experience points) to level up and earn new combat abilities. So we’ve been doing this kid of gameplay for a long time, and Brink definitely takes it to the next level.”
“I think players are going to be really surprised by the sheer number of new items, abilities, weapons, weapon add-ons, and outfits they can earn as they play.”
Brink is to be released this year on PS3, Xbox360 and PC. If you haven’t watched the huge cinematic revealed a few days ago click here. FPS’s gameplay will certainly be turned on acrobatic features which will certainly create an amazing dynamic.
