Metro 2034 will be in 3D

PostDateIcon June 30th, 2010 | PostAuthorIcon Author: Skunk | PCXbox 360
wanna walk?try the subway.

THQ announced that Metro 2033 will have a sequel. It is currently in development and will be in3D. This sequel will be entitled Metro 2034.

The sequel will also be based on a Dmitry Glukhovsky novel (such as the first game) so we can have a nice idea of the storyline reading the review of the book (here).

But let say a bit more about the book’s story: it takes place one year after Metro 2033 (but anyone could have guessed that), in a different metro station. The post apocalyptic Russia is in Sevastopolskaya, a rural outskirts of Moscow. In the book, the station has turned to a power resource for the metro centre. But one day, the stationt loses contact with the others and here starts the nightmare.

The sequel, in the book, introduces a white mist (such as Lost’s Black Smoke) that kills anyone that get too close to it. However, we don’t  know if it will be in the Metro 2034.

Crysis 3 “Accidentally Announced”

PostDateIcon June 30th, 2010 | PostAuthorIcon Author: Skunk |
Crytek looking for buzz.

We can be sure that Ea won’t give up on Crysis franchise. If it continues to meet success we can be sure to have a Crysis 3, 4 and 5. And we can say that Crytek and Ea are pretty confident in the upcoming Crysis 2 claiming everywhere that it has the best graphics, the best game and the best story ever seen in the video game history (and certainly the whole world wild history!).

In May 2010 David DeMartini, Ea partners boss, said to CVG about a sequel:

“Absolutely, yes. I’m confident we’ll continue to have that series and that relationship. We continue to fulfil what we promised [Crytek] and, as I said, they are fantastic partners and incredibly loyal.

With regards to our ongoing relationships with Crytek and future Crysis games – absolutely. We’re always very interested in anything that they’re doing. But the nature of our relationship with them is – to some degree – unwritten loyalty to each other.”

Will There be a Killzone 1 HD Remake

PostDateIcon June 30th, 2010 | PostAuthorIcon Author: Skunk | Ps3
Fake or true?

We already know that Sony wants to make more HD conversions with PS2 games. Concerning God of War upgrade and improvements for PS3 with the God of Wars Collection Sony’s Shubei Yoshida said to IGN:

“There were a lot of positive reactions from consumers in doing that, and now we get a lot of suggestions for types of packs they’d like to see.”

and added: “So we are looking to continue to do these HD conversions.”

Another close example is Medal of Honor which will provide with the Special Edition a Remake of Medal of Honor: Frontline.

For the moment nothing is confirmed but some rumorson the web say that a HD remake of Killzone 1 could be released with Killzone 3. Perhaps it will be in a Special Edition such as Medal of Honor.

The official Guerrilla Twiter accound replies “No Comment ;) ” when we asked about a Killzone 1 HD remake which can be understood in many ways! Is there an official confirmation set for these days?

I don’t know about you folks but I would LOVE that!! What about you??

Top 10 Half-Life 2 Multiplayer Mods Part 2 (5 – 1)

PostDateIcon June 29th, 2010 | PostAuthorIcon Author: Skunk | PC
What mods you must play!

Here is top 5of Half-Life 2 multiplayer mods!

5 – Age of Chivalry

Age of Chivalry is a total conversion for Half-Life 2 which is currently being developed by Team Chivalry. This is a famous mod which proposes a fun story driven multiplayer experience set in a fantasy world in the medieval ages! Yep you did read it,well: Half-Life 2 is ported in a medieval world! I did tell you that mods could bring you anywhere!

It is violent and it is a deep immersion within the game. The Masons and the Agatha Kingdom fights for glory. Agatha knights left the kingdom for the crusades and when they return, they realize that the nasty Masons have taken control of their kingdom! You play a multiplayer experience through a tense storyline organized through several maps (always in the same order to respect the story). You can play as an archer, a knight or even a soldier and each faction offers distinct classes.

The players will be able to take part in sieges, town raids and open wars in a story driven game.

The mod can be downloaded on their official website (click here).

4 – Insurgency

Insurgency is an ambitious multiplayer mode which is a free total conversion. It takes you across the modern battlefield, engaging in intense firefights and battles as a member of either an organized and equipped conventional force (US Marines), or as an unconventional Irakian fighter that uses a combination of firepower and bravery to take on their sometimes overwhelming opponent (Insurgents). Insurgency is a brilliant mix of Counter Strike and Armed Assault.

Intense realism will keep you alert as you and your team try to accomplish the mission’s objectives. Specified roles are included in order to have a complete squad experience. The point system is brilliant and combat veterans will be rewarded for their leadership and tactical abilities so that they can rise through the ranks and command.

Insurgency is available on Steam and works with  any Source-based game: Half-Life 2 (or any of its episodes), Portal, Counter Strike: Source or Team Fortress 2: Insurgency will be listed under your “My Games” list on your Steam client

You can visit Insmod.org for more details on this mod.

3 – Pirates, Viking and Knights II

Pirates, Vikings and Knights II is an amazing total conversion of the Half-Life 2 Source engine which opposes 3 teams with objectives and total domination!

It features an intelligent Combat System: melee-based with directional charged attacks and blocks. Each class has their own set of unique weapons and play styles, as well as specific special classes attack that can be unleashed once the meter is filled. Each class offers its own play style which is most effective in different situations. It features 18 planned classes, 6 for each team! This mod offers a unique and rich atmosphere.
Each map features a game mode that you’ll find both unique and entertaining. Game modes include Booty and Holy Grail,

Not only has it got a good gameplay, it also has several interesting modes such as: Last Team Standing, Territory, Objective Push and Team Deathmatch.

You can find more information about Pirates, Vikings and Knights II Half-Life 2 more on Pvkii.com or you can directly download this inescapable mod here.

2 – Zombie Panic

Zombies… do you know anything funnier in FPS?? I love zombies and this is why I love this mod! This Half-Life 2 mod features a classic zombie outbreak scenario. Close to Left 4 Dead, the living dead are coming to eat the last humans and you have to survive and live through the day!

The deal is rather clear: zombies want to eat humans and humans want to survive as long as they can. Among that struggle, you will get objectives. When a human is caught by a zombie: he becomes an undead!

Humans can move 20% faster than any zombie (however, they do get slower according to their weaponry and ammo), they also have a large selection of weapons to defend themselves such as firearms, explosives and melee weapons. But you spawn with a melee weapon and a handgun, which is not bad! You will then have to run around to find the best weapons: that is why teamwork is important.

Each match starts with 1 zombie on the map who will infect other players. The zombies can regenerate their hit points and have a Z-vision which ables them to see in the dark. It also allows them to track down humans by leading them right to their target thanks to a blood trail. As you see, this is a complete and tense mod awaiting for you! This is the 2nd ultimate mod for Half-Life 2! It can be downloaded on Steam (here).

1 – Dystopia

Dystopia is one of the oldest mods of this Top 10 Half-Life 2 multiplayer mod but what a mod! It is a cyberpunk total conversion of the Source Engine. It offers tense combat situations in a high-tech world spanned by computers networks. You can choose to play a punk of a corporate mercenary in order to gain access, via Jack-in Points, to cyberspace: a 3-dimensional representation of the world’s network! In this virtual world you will be able to fight off enemies hackers and launch programs to gain control of critical systems and to affect the physical world.

The gameplay evolves whether you are in the physical world or in the cyberspace, and your objectives will change. Players will have to work altogether on both dimensions to achieve victory. This is the ultimate mod for Half-Life 2: tense, totally immersive, hardcore set in a deep, rich universe.

You can find many more details on their official website (click here). Dystopia can be downloaded on their website and requires Steam and a Source powered game such as Half-Life 2.

So what do you think about our Top 10? It was pretty hard not to talk about every mods I loved so here are those for whom I wanted a special mention: Neotokyo, WWI Source, Battle Grounds 2, Massaker, Resistance & Liberation, D.I.P P.I.P: Warmup, The Hidden, Fistful of Frags, Eternal Silence, Source Forts, JailBreak!, Prop Hunt, Kreedz Climbing, and Dreamball. There are more on our forum here (you can help us to complete to list).

Give us YOUR top Half-Life 2 multiplayer Mods?

Each class offers its own play style which is most effective in different situations. It features 18 planned classes, 6 for each team! This mod offers a unique and rich atmosphere.
Each map features a game mode that you’ll find both unique and entertaining. Game modes include Booty and Holy Grail,

Not only has it got a good gameplay, it also has several interesting modes such as: Last Team Standing, Territory, Objective Push and Team Deathmatch.

Top 10 Half-Life 2 Multiplayer Mods Part 1 (10 – 6)

PostDateIcon June 29th, 2010 | PostAuthorIcon Author: Skunk | PC
What mods you must play!

Half-Life 2 has opened and impressive gate for mods. Source Engine is fluid, is “friendly-useâ€, is accessible, powerful and allows anyone who has spare time and the will to create a huge mod as desired. This is how the Source Engine seduces thousands of young developers and showed many gamers the professional aspect of video games: the creation. Mods are a benediction for gamers: easy to install (some of them are exe files, other must be unzipped in …/steam/steamapps/sourcemods), it enhances the experience and increases (or improve sometimes) the game’s life. Steam offers some mods that you can download directly from the client! and the main point is that it’s free!

Steam is also the place were games have incredible promotions! The “Half-Life Complete” pack is actually available for about $25: Half-Life 1, Half-Life 2, Half-Life 2 Deathmatch, Episode 1, Episode 2, Half-Life: Blue Shift, Opposing Force & Team Fortress Classic! More, Half-Life 2 is now also available on Mac! so we thought it would be cool to offer to every new users the top 10 of the mods they must download!

BioShock 2 Franchise isn’t Dead

PostDateIcon June 29th, 2010 | PostAuthorIcon Author: Skunk |
Bioshock is still going.

CVG reported through an interview with Take-Two boss, Ben Feder, that Bioshock 2 was “not hugely successful” at retail. The game was acclaimed by the press but didn’t meet its public.

“We’re in an entertainment business. The surprise factor is always going to be there. Sometimes they work for you and sometimes they work against you. Our goal is to have them work for us,” commented Ben Feder about the  the unpredictable software sales market.

“Even Bioshock 2 is profitable for the company and is a great success. The franchise is viable and has a lasting impact on consumers. It was ultimately successful, but not hugely successful.”

Take-Two doesn’t give up and prepares BioShock 3, which should be developed by another developer and not 2K Games (check here) and a movie is still in development! The franchise is not dead!

New Crysis 2 Trailer – New York Has Never Been this Intense!

PostDateIcon June 28th, 2010 | PostAuthorIcon Author: Skunk | PCPs3Xbox 360
Will Crysis 2 rule the world?

This new trailer for Crysis 2 gives a nice look to the game footage. We’ve already seen most of them during the E3 event weeks ago. Whatever, it is a good reason to watch the giant robots, vehicles and tense battles in New York streets again !

I’m sure PC gamers are now definitively affraid that a  graphic card will be needed to run the game in normal settings. Cause I am!

In order to feed the beloved debate: Crytek declared several times that the game will have “slightly more performance” on PS3 than on Xbox 360! (click here to read more about the difference).
