Battlefield: Bad Company 2 – Every DLC Will Be Free
There are 2 points very interesting to notice about DICE’s Battlefield: Bad Company 2:
1. The Vip 2 Map Pack hadn’t caused any problem! Some of you might consider me as sarcastic but DICE had a lot of problems with servers and patches. This is one of the rare updates which hadn’t caused any crashes. Congrats!
2. DICE anounced that future Dlc for the game will always be free, including future planned contents coming to players in “generous” amounts! Every Dlc coming will be totally free for all users who own a VIP code (which was in the game’s box). Those who bought a second-hand game will just have to pay $15 once to have the whole Dlc coming free or pay the price announced on the PSN.
Patrick Bac, senior producer at DICE declared to Xbox World 360:
“We don’t ever want to charge for our maps and insisted to Ea that this attitude was crucial when it came to keeping our community happy and playing together,”
“We’re owned by Ea but we’re still very much DICE.”
“DICE have ‘generous’ amounts of Dlc planned for Battlefield: Bad Company 2’s future.”
DICE is decided to laugh about Infinity Ward’s policy: 1200 Microsoft Points for 5 maps with server problems, not only did they publish parodic videos of Modern Warfare 2 but the same day the Stimulus Map Pack arrived for 1200 Microsoft Points: theVIP 2 Map Pack arrived for free without any problems (which has been pretty rare for Battlefield since it’s official realease. Be fair!).

Stimulus Package – Give Us Your Opinion
Now that you played Bailout all night long we want to have your opinion about the Modern Warfare 2 Stimulus Package! If your opinion is not in the poll, just comment.
Breach: Security Leak and First Video Of The Destruction
During the PAX East in Boston, last weekend, Atomic Games, Breach developers’ code has been stolen. According to Atomic Games, a visitor tried to download the code and then ran accross the crowd. He was stopped by the security and the code was found on his personal computer!
“The suspect did admit to us several times, including as he was doing it, that he was stealing the code. He said to myself and several other team members, after being caught, that it was not a big deal, he just really liked the game and wanted to play it with his friends,” David Tractenberg, a spokesperson for Atomic, explained.
“This guy had only succeeded in copying about 14MB to his laptop before our staff caught him,” Atomic Games President Peter Tamte told Joystiq. “Because of the work we do for military and intelligence organizations, we take security issues like this very seriously … It is fortunate for him that we caught him before any of this ended up on the internet. Many of the hackers who stole Valve’s Half-Life 2 code were tracked down by the FBI’s Cybercrime Task Force.”
The thief is a 20 years old guy from Wilmington, Delaware. He had on his laptop moded Xbox360, moded PSP, moded DS and XMP3 which justify the confiscation of the computer by the police. He also was banned from XBLA for having played Forza 3 before its release which he downloaded illegally.
The Grinder will be a FPS on Wii
The Xbox360 and the PS3 versions will be TPS (Third Person Shooter) but HVS wants to keep the Wii version as a FPS. High Voltage decided that the Nintendo version will be different.
High Voltage’s chief creative officer, Eric Nofsinger, explained to IGN:
“The expansion of Grinder to 360 and PS3 and its subsequent change in gameplay and perspective has been somewhat misinterpreted as a universal change across all platforms. We still genuinely love the Wii and would ideally like to see a publishing partner pick up both a FPS Wii version and a third-person action version specific to the 360 and PS3.”
“We have invested more than year into the Wii; the game is extremely fun, and frankly, we wouldn’t want to see that work ‘thrown away,’” said Nofsinger. “But when we decided to add the 360 and PS3 platforms it didn’t seem to make much sense to jump on the rainbow chasing treadmill of trying to do the same game for such dissimilar consoles and end up short changing one or the other.”

Why the Modern Warfare 2 Stimulus Package DLC Went Out of Order
This is what explained Microsoft yesterday concerning the problems of playing the Stimulus maps on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2: the Dlc and the title update were “released out of order”.
People who bought the maps yesterday couldn’t launch the matches because the maps couldn’t be loaded because of technical problems of servers and matchmatching. Here comes the problem: according to Microsoft, this update, which was supposed to fix the problem, should have arrived before the Dlc release.
Though, the flood of gamers who ran on the Dlc was also one of the problems. Victim of its success…
Halo: Reach – Details About The Storyline
Halo: Reach is back in alien conflicts with humans. The battlefield is on an unknown alien world with a rich bestiary of alien enemies. The battlefield’s range is announced as the “Combat scale never before seen in a FPS”.
Marcus Lehto, Creative Director of Halo: Reach said:
“I started working on Reach immediately after Halo 3. We had the opportunity to see how ODST was developing and we did a lot of soul searching to see what we did right and what we did wrong. There’s always ways in which we can improve and we took a lot of feedback from our fans to find out what they wanted – what they loved about the Halo series, what they’ve never seen, and what they’d love to see happen.”
Halo: Reach will be able to support 60 AI characters or vehicles at the same time: “That means we can have 60 AI, or like 40 AI characters and 20 vehicles,” sayd Lehto, “all of that with weapons firing and explosions going off everywhere. Yeah, we’re definitely gonna have much, much bigger, open battles than ever before.”
Blacklight: Tango Down – More Information and New Screenshots
Ignition Entertainment announced that they are developing Blacklight: Tango Down. The publisher revealed a lot of the game’s features. The FPS will be available later this year on PSN, XBLA and PC.
Blacklight will set in a near future and will stare a special operation of a military group entitled Blacklight. These elite soldiers were gathered from the whole branches of the special operations: SF, DEVGRU, RANGER, CIA and are the Secretary of Defense’s personal team for very dangerous operations.
The Conduit 2 – First News and Screenshots
According to official Nintendo sources and the producer Josh Olson, The Conduit 2 will feature a lot of things!
First of all, the game should be based on a Team acknowledge. The level design and the gameplay should be improved (those were the worst points of the 1st episode) and should take place in a sci-fi environment again with “big vistas and multi-tiered areas”. The game is developed with the Quantum 3 Engine and should propose bigger spaces.
“The AI in particular has been a big focus for us. We really want the enemies to come across as intelligent. In the first game, they just sit there waiting for you to show up. This time, we want it to feel like a living environment, like everyone was doing something before you got there.”
The environment should be more interactive and the game should feature a huge variety of enemies.
The multiplayer mode should provide 12 players online on a same map! Prepare your Wii Mote!
If The Conduit 1 had not been such a failure, I would appreciate these features.

Stimulus Package Caused Troubles
At the present moment the Stimulus Package is working. However, this morning, the pack wasn’t working.
Today, SentUAMessage, a blogger said:
“We’re getting reports that the MW2 Title Update is now live – It may take a few minutes for it to update for everyone. Let us know how you get on.”
Daniel Maher from Microsoft tweeted this morning: “Stimulus Package update: We’re looking into why they aren’t working, but we suspect a new title update is required and is due shortly”. This Twitter account must have received a lot of messages from the frustrated gamers who paid $15 for the 5 new maps of the package…
“The Stimulus Package needs a Title Update and it didn’t go out properly. We’re pushing it out now – it won’t be long,” wrote Larry Hryb (Xbox360’s) this morning on Twitter.
Effectively, the lack of a title update disturbed the Dlc download on our hard drive. The problems are now solved and we can now, after this little crisis, play the famous and so anticipated Stimulus Package.
